KARAT-S TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Buying a ticket the passenger concludes a contract for transportation with the carrier, who assumes his responsibilities pursuant to Art. 42 - 48 of the Vehicle Transportation Act (State Gazette, No.89/1999, Issue11/2002).
2. The carrier provides the holder of a valid ticket issued by the company, or by its partners abroad, transportation on the destination indicated, as well as free transportation of his personal luggage, consisting of a suitcase and a handbag (per person/ ticket.
3. Each additional luggage is chargeable. Additional luggage can only be taken if there is enough capacity in the baggage section of the bus.
4. Passengers have the option to select between a regular and a business class seat for certain routes that are fixed by the carrier. Information whether a business class seat is available or not is provided at the cash desk before ticket purchase, and over the phone. When purchasing a ticket through the official website of the carrier - www.karat-s.com , customers can select between a regular and a business class ticket from the search menu. The Business class seats are located in the front rows on the bus. They ensure additional comfort by providing more legroom. The Business class passengers also receive a multimedia device for entertainment during the trip, as well as an individual headphone set. Additionally, the passengers are offered a bottle of water and a light snack as a compliment from the carrier. Each passenger may choose which type of seat – a regular one or a business class one, they are going to buy. We kindly inform our customers that the price of regular seats and business class seats is not matched in case the other type of seat is sold out. It is not allowed to travel on a business class seat when you have purchased a regular ticket.
5. The price of the ticket includes the transportation of one suitcase with a size of 100/60/30 cm (maximum weight of 30 kg) and one onboard luggage. First extra luggage costs 10 BGN, and every other extra luggage – 20 BGN per luggage, unless there are any special fares applied for the travel period.
6. The passenger receives a luggage receipt and a sticker for each luggage, pursuant to Art. 37 of the Vehicle Transportation Act. The carrier is not responsible for luggage without a luggage sticker and a receipt.
7. Changes and cancellation fees:
   
   • Cancellation made within 72 hours prior to the departure time – a penalty of 20% of the total ticket price is deducted ;
   • Cancellation made from 72 hours up to 24 h prior to the departure time – a penalty of 60% of the total ticket price is deducted ;
   • Cancellation made less than 24 hours prior to the departure time – ticket price is not refunded.
8. The carrier is not liable for lost or stolen tickets.
9. The validity of the return tickets is 6 months. Open tickets without fixed dates of traveling are subject to reconfirmation either in the sell-offices of the carrier or of its partners in the country and abroad and are accepted and processed only if vacant seats are available. The price of reconfirmation is 5 BGN.
10. The reconfirmation of the journey date is required, especially in cases of a long period between the initial reservation and the date of the return journey.
11. Open-return tickets are accepted as an exception, depending on the seats available in the bus.
12. A passenger who has purchased a ticket is insured, for the course of the journey, for the “Accident” risk. Should a higher insurance and/or the inclusion of another insurance event be required, the passenger can conclude an individual insurance contract.
13. The carrier is not liable for passport, visa and customs problems of the passengers, which are entirely their responsibility, as well as for insurances for “Life” and “Medical expenses” risks.
14. Every passenger is financially liable in person for infringements of Schengen regulations for traveling abroad. Fines are paid personally.
15. Every passenger is financially liable in person for damages caused by him/her on the vehicle.
16. The carrier is not liable for delays due to unforeseen conditions such as strikes, traffic blocks, bad weather, catastrophes or other instances of force-majeure, as well as for lost or stolen luggage before the check-in at the bus and after the handing over of the luggage at the final station.
17. In case the journey is not realized due to a fault of the carrier, only the value of the unrealized part of the trip is refundable.
18. No pet transportation, as well as transportation of TV-sets, bicycles, washing machines, heaters and others.
19. Smoking on the bus is forbidden during the entire journey.
20. The use of the individual safety belts in the bus during the journey is obligatory throughout Europe. No using them is under fine and paid personally.
21. Transportation of unaccompanied luggage is forbidden.
22. All complaints must be in writing with an attached copy of the ticket or resp. luggage label and have to be presented no later than 1 month after the journey. Technical troubles, concerning the comfort during the journey, are not a reason for complaints.
23. All arrival times published in timetables, schedules, and others are approximate.
24. The booking is valid only after payment.
